Proteins interacting with thioredoxins

Abstract
To identify targets for redox regulation by thioredoxins in Dictyostelium, a two-hybrid-screen has been performed using a Dictyostelium thioredoxin I as bait and a Dictyostelium cDNA expression library as prey. Approximately 20 positive cDNA clones have been sequenced and are currently further analyzed for functional interaction with thioredoxin. Recombinant Dictyostelium thioredoxin has been expressed in E. coli and is being used to characterize its biochemical properties. Knock-out strains are being constructed in Dictyostelium for thioredoxins I and II and for thioredoxin reductase.
