Abstract
Authors describe the synthesis of a ferrocenylene-bridged bis[2,5-bis(2-pyridyl)]phosphole ligand that shows addnl. rotational degrees of freedom relative to its previously described p-phenylene-bridged congener. The coordination behavior of this ferrocenylene-based bis-N,P,N pincer towards coinage metal centers MI with M = Cu and Au was explored, revealing different coordination modes with and without involvement of N donation. Upon coordination of AuI metal centers, different isomers of a bimetallic AuI complex were isolated in the cryst. solid state that showed (or did not) intramol. aurophilic interaction.
