Abstract
Using the examples of received accounts of the course of the Reformation and of current Reformation research, the author first analyzes the process by means of which judgments concerning women's participation in the Reformation have been received. Secondly, she reflects on the consequences of historical research on women and gender with a view to the possible anchoring of the results in church history and in the historiographical "canon".
