Abstract
30 years after establishing a professorship for didactics of science and social studies in primary schools in the former Federal Republic of Germany, it is nowadays existing at universities nationwide. Nevertheless, the self-concept of that discipline, with a view to the object of research, is wildly discussed. As a reason, the following paper presents a research project, that deals with the reconstruction of a self-concept of the scientific discipline.
