Within the research project "Mobility and product strategy in rural

areas" by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital lnfrastructure

(BMVI), a toolbox has been developed supporting planning and valuation

of flexible public transport offers in rural areas. In their article, the

authors of the available toolbox present the application areas and the

main functions of the four integrated software components. The toolbox

is mainly used to estimate passenger demand, costs, redeems

and to establish whether flexible public transport offer in rural areas is

a deficit area.
