Vincent Egenolf

Research Interest

As a biologist and bioeconomist, my interest is in the analysis of environmental impacts arising from the use of biotic raw materials. The aim of my research is to expand the information base in order to determine directional values and suitable assessment methods for sustainable use of biotic raw materials with a focus on timber.

Within the framework of the BMBF model project SYMOBIO for the monitoring of the German bioeconomy, I am working on the quantification and evaluation of the German final consumption of roundwood equivalents from Germany and abroad - the so-called timber footprint. Here, countries and regions are to be analyzed with regard to their timber use and the depth of detail and informative value of the sustainability assessment is to be increased by linking statistical information with spatially explicit data.
