Project duration: 09/201708/2020

Abstract

The graduate program Rural-Urban Dynamics in Bangalore (GP-BangaDyn) was part of the graduate academy at the University of Kassel. The program was set-up in cooperation with the DFG research unit FOR2432 located at the Universities of Kassel and Göttingen. The graduate program analysed the process of rural-urban transformation in the Metropolitan region of Bangalore in South India.

As part of the BangaDyn graduate program, we were investigating the influence of humans on the regional water balance in the greater Bangalore area (India). For this purpose, a hydrological model for the upper Arkavathy was created and adapted to current runoff situations by incorporating human activities.
