Climatological effects through urban development using agricultural areas
Project Details
Project duration: 08/2002–08/2004
Abstract
The extending of cities create environmental problems in terms of a reduction of urban climate qualities and effect the neighbourhood food production for cites. Land use is changing from agricultural areas to housing areas, which changes the meso- and microclimatic conditions. Free land climate change to urban climates. Especially one will observe an extention of the heat island and a reduction of ventilation.
Investigation Path. In the first part of the project data will be compiled on land use, topographical situation, agricultural use, structures for creating a climate map in a mesoscale. Different air images can be used. Theoretical approach for the climate using GIS to combine above mentioned levels.
