Abstract
Interleaving of converter stages is a common approach for either power increase filter optimization or improved dynamics. Based on efficiency requirements during partial load some of the interleaved stages can be switched off to decrease losses. This paper addresses an optimized operation during partial load due to circulation through a subset of the interleaved stages. The benefit is shown based on a two stage interleaved converter for ultrasonic applications.
