Abstract
The parasitic couplings between EMI filter components strongly impact the high-frequency attenuation of an EMI filter. One of the most effective ways to reduce the magnetic and capacitive couplings between components and improve the high-frequency attenuation is placing a conductive shield between filter components. Therefore this paper analyzes and investigates the shielding enclosure's size and volume effect on EMI filter performance in common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM) configurations using copper shields positioned over a CM choke.
