This study empirically analyzes the claim that sustainable funds are masked conventional funds for a small part of the German equity fund market. Additionally, we test whether the sustainable and conventional funds of the sample have a different financial performance. The results show that the sustainable funds have significantly higher ESG scores in general and at least equal financial performance.
