Abstract
Today passenger travel surveys in public transport are often realised as face-to-face interviews with paper and pencil. Personal digital assistant (PDA) is becoming more and more important as an alternative to traditional questionnaire in recent years. The WVI GmbH got to use questionnaire and PDA in the same project, so both survey instruments could be compared methodically. The article describes the results of this comparison and identifies areas of application and limits of PDA-based passenger travel surveys.
