Abstract
Violence and Gender are both complex theoretical concepts that have to be discussed by reflecting the different perspectives and traditions of each concept. This shows that there is no homogeneous concept of the category of gender as well as violence is researched under different theoretical pre-assumptions. Asking for gender and violence as related phenomena the paper discusses different theoretical traditions of theorizing gender and potentials. Being interested in getting beyond the reaffirmation of dichotomous constructions of violence ``as{''} male or vicitimization ``as{''} female phenomena.}}
