Zusammenfassung, Abstract
NO fluorescence excitation spectra of undispersed VUV fluorescence (λfl = 115-200nm) have been measured simultaneously with the absorption for exciting-photon energies between 16.0 and 16.57eV with a very narrow bandpass (ΔE = 1.6meV at 15.9eV) using monochromatized synchrotron radiation as the exciting-photon source. In this energy range the observed fluorescence intensity stems from neutral excited dissociation fragments O((4S)3s 3S1) only and represents a measure for fragment-state-selective dissociation into pairs O((4S)3s 3S1) + N(4S3/2). Due to the narrow exciting-photon bandwidth it was possible for the first time to observe the band shapes of vibronic peaks corresponding to the dissociation of NOb 3Π npπ/σ(v = 0) Rydberg states. These shapes have been compared with band shapes calculated via the intensity distribution caused by the different rotational states belonging to the vibronic level.
