Abstract
Main focus of this publication lies in the experimental and theoretical study of the electromagnetic coupling between the DC and AC side of MW-Class Photovoltaic (PV) Inverters during transient overvoltages or surges. The complex electrical topology in PV-Plants and its physical dimensions, allow to propose the hypothesis, that capacitive couplings, oscillations and electromagnetic travelling waves could cause surges or overvoltages at the DC- and AC-sides of the PV-Inverter.
