Abstract
Two new perfluorophenylene-bridged bis(dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]phosphole)s were synthesized and their photophys. and redox properties were studied via static/dynamic fluorescence spectroscopies, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and DFT calcns. The photophys. studies revealed an interesting intramol. charge transfer (ICT) occurring between the two identical dithienophosphole moieties in polar solvents that was supported by the theor. studies. The CV expts. show that the bisphosphole species exhibits a smaller charge transfer (CT) energy gap than the corresponding single dithienophosphole species. [on SciFinder(R)]
