Another Awareness Training?! Resistances and Range of Possibilities

Abstract
In the context of the research project "GEnderMAINStreAMing: Gemeinsam Veranderungen erreichen" (Gender mainstreaming: achieving changes together) of the University of Vechta and the University of Kassel, supported by the "Bundesministerium fur Bildung und Forschung" and the "Europaischer Sozialfonds", we will show what kind of changes through gender mainstreaming can be achieved, if resistances are visualized and seriously worked on. In the following resistances will be illustrated as ranges of possibilities. Gender awareness, gender justice, gender democracy and gender dialogue: No business company can (or wants to) avoid these keywords. Gender mainstreaming is still politically "in" The question is, if gender mainstreaming is being carried inner-organizational. Quotes from qualitative interviews show not only personal but also organizational resistances against gender mainstreaming. We will show the right way to handle resistances and will visualize the chances that lie in them. The goal of gender mainstreaming won't be achieved without gender awareness. But only gender awareness won't achieve the goal either, a strategic decision of the topmanagement is necessary.
