The planning of logistics processes and their efficient implementation are decisive competitive factors for plant engineering. However, the collection of logistical data is often neglected on construction sites. The resulting information gap can be closed with the help of a semantic model of a digital shadow, which collects logistically relevant data and passes it on to project management. This article describes information and communication processes in construction logistics as the first important results of a research project and explains their necessity for the development and use of this digital shadow.
