Abstract
Mobile phones are becoming more and more important in public transport. The first mobile ticketing systems based on text messages exist already for several years. Using established mobile ticketing systems passengers are allowed to buy defined tickets, but they have to know about tariff and fares before. Mobile ticketing with automatic fare calculation are still exceptional nowadays. The following article describes a check-In/check-out-system that supports mobile phones as passenger media and uses the mobile network to acquire usage data.
